The agreement

Terms of service

The terms you agree to when you use Flooze. Straight about money: Flooze is software that moves payment bank-to-bank — it isn't a bank, and it never holds your money.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Flooze (“Flooze”, “we”, “us”), and they govern your use of the Flooze service — the Flooze app, the merchant dashboard, quotes and bills, and the payment page. By signing up for or using Flooze, you agree to these terms. If you’re agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you’re authorised to bind that business.

2. What Flooze is

Flooze lets an Australian business take payment without a card terminal: the client approves the payment in their own banking app and the money goes straight to the business’s bank account. Flooze also sends bills and reminders, produces tax invoices, and reconciles payments. Cards are supported as a fallback.

Flooze is software, not a bank or a payment processor. Payments move directly between the client’s bank and the merchant’s bank — on the bank rails (PayTo® and PayID®, over the New Payments Platform) through our payments partner, and for cards through a card provider. Flooze never holds, custodies, or takes a cut of the payment itself. Bank-rail payments are approved or sent by the client in their banking app and are irrevocable once made — there is no card-style chargeback on that rail.

3. Who can use Flooze

Flooze is for businesses operating in Australia. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything done under your account. Where we require multi-factor authentication (for example before money can move out), you must keep it enabled.

4. Fees

The current fees are published on our pricing page. In summary:

  • Plan — $30 a month, plus $5 a month for each phone or tablet running the Flooze app. This replaces a terminal rental, not adds to it.
  • Per bank-rail payment — 1%, never more than $1, with a small minimum equal to what the payment rail costs us to move.
  • Card payments (fallback) — every fee the card processor charges, dispute fees included, paid by you on your own card-provider account, plus our stated card rate, billed as its own line and only when a card is used. Current rates are on the pricing page.

Fees are billed to the merchant. Unless stated otherwise, fees are exclusive of GST, which is added where it applies. We may change our fees; we’ll give you reasonable notice before a change takes effect, and the pricing page always shows the current fees. Flooze does not surcharge clients.

5. Your responsibilities as a merchant

  • Keep your details accurate — especially your payout destination. You’re responsible for the account money is paid into.
  • You’re responsible for the goods and services you sell, for your own clients, and for any refunds, disputes, or complaints about them.
  • You’re responsible for your own tax, including GST, and for issuing correct bills for what you sell.
  • Comply with the law that applies to your business, including consumer law and the rules on card surcharging.
  • Don’t use Flooze for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or that we reasonably consider abusive.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, infringe someone’s rights, or use Flooze to defraud or mislead;
  • interfere with the service, probe or attack its security, or try to access data that isn’t yours;
  • copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the service except where the law allows it.

7. Third-party services

Flooze works with other services to move money and, where you choose, to connect your accounting software (for example Xero or MYOB). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them. Payments depend on the banks and payment networks involved.

8. Availability

We work to keep Flooze available and reliable, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change, or suspend parts of the service, and we may carry out maintenance. Payment timing can depend on banks and payment networks outside our control.

9. Consumer guarantees

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for breach of such a guarantee can be limited, it’s limited (at our option) to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of re-supply.

10. Our liability

Subject to section 9, and to the extent permitted by law: the service is provided “as is”; we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, and for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We’re not liable for a payment failing, being delayed, or being sent to a wrong account where that results from incorrect details you provided or from a bank or payment network.

11. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs arising from your use of Flooze in breach of these terms or the law, from the goods and services you sell, or from your dealings with your own clients — except to the extent we caused the loss.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Flooze at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we’re required to by law, or to protect the service or other users — where practical, with notice. On termination, the terms that by their nature should survive (such as fees owing, liability, and indemnity) continue.

13. Intellectual property

Flooze, its software, brand, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You keep ownership of your own data and content; you grant us the rights needed to run the service for you. You may not use our name or branding without permission.

14. Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives here, with the “last updated” date at the top. If we make a significant change, we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Flooze after a change means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
